5 Cheap Natural Hair Care Products That Give You Real Results

save money hair products

The most common complaint that I hear about natural hair is that it is expensive to maintain, and I understand why. People are not aware of the multitude of cheap natural hair care products on the market, many of which work just as well as the expensive products. Being that I have tried a ridiculous number of natural hair products, I know a good-quality product that works. As the title implies, I will be sharing with you some products that give your natural hair what it needs without breaking the bank.

Let’s get into it!

Eco Styler Gel

Tried and true, this gel has been a part of my natural hair regimen for years and I love it. I use it to smooth down frizz throughout my hair and around my hairline. It works perfectly as an edge control, or it can be used in combination with a moisturizer or leave-in conditioner to create some bomb wash and gos, twist outs, and many other styles.

The best part about this gel, besides the fact that it has a strong level 10 hold, is that it does not flake. On top of that, it’s CHEAP!

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

This moisturizer/curl enhancer is a holy grail for naturals everywhere, myself included. This product made it to the list because it is affordable and effective. It works as both a cream moisturizer and a styler, which means that you are getting more bang for your buck (as opposed to buying a moisturizer and a styler separately).

After washing and conditioning, I apply this to my hair and then allow my hair to air dry. Once dried, my hair looks shiny, feels soft, and my curls are defined.

A little of this product goes a LONG way– I have been using my current jar of this for nearly a year. I prefer this product over just about any other for my wash and gos.

Oh, and it’s CHEAP!

As I Am Coconut Cowash

Everyone with naturally textured hair needs a gentle hair cleanser, and this one happens to be the best cowash that I have ever tried.

I tried this cowash because I was dealing with dry hair after over-processing my hair with hair dye. To bring my hair back to health, I knew that I needed to add moisture to my hair at every step in my hair regimen. This cowash has slip that makes my hair easy to detangle, and it gets my hair clean without stripping my hair of precious scalp oils.

It’s CHEAP too!

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo and Conditioner Set

I am addicted to the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil line as a whole. However, I’ll focus on the shampoo and conditioner for now.

This duo gives my hair life. The products’ fragrances initially captured my heart. These products smell like banana vanilla happiness. I picked up this the shampoo and conditioner on a whim a few years ago and I’ve kept these products in my stash ever since.

What I love about the shampoo is that it gives my hair a substantial cleanse without stripping it dry. There is also no need to use a lot of shampoo for each wash since the shampoo is concentrated. One bottle of this shampoo lasts me a long time (even when I had bra-strap length hair).

The conditioner is a great addition to the shampoo. I apply the conditioner to my hair, finger detangle, leave the conditioner on my hair to marinate for 5 – 15 minutes, and then rinse the conditioner out. My hair feels as smooth as butter afterwards!

Both the shampoo and conditioner are free of ingredients that we don’t love, including parabens, silicones, and sulfates. And…..wait for it…..these products are CHEAP!
